Our Founders
James J. King
James King is the CEO and Owner of Titan Hospitality Group. Titan Hospitality owns and operates 12 restaurants in the Mid-Atlantic region with locations in Maryland, Virginia and Delaware. Titan is headquartered in Crofton, Maryland, employs over 800 employees and surpassed $40 million in gross revenue in 2018.
James is a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates, serving in the Maryland Legislature from 2006 – 2010 representing Crofton, Millersville, Davidsonville, Crownsville, Severn, Severna Park & Annapolis. During his time in the Legislature, he served on the Economic Matters Committee, Unemployment Oversight SubCommittee, Workman’s Compensation Sub-Committee, and the Joint Base Realignment Commission. In 2010 James was appointed as small business advisor to the Governor of Maryland.
In 2012 James Co-Founded Bluewater Strategies. Bluewater Strategies is a consulting firm based in Annapolis, MD that represents business owners navigating through the often complicated and confusing regulatory processes of Local, State and Federal Government. His clients have included billion dollar casino operations to small family owned start-up companies.
James is an active member of his community and sits on the Board of the Oyster Recovery Project and The Anne Arundel County Business Roundtable. He is a former Board Member of the United Way of Anne Arundel County and the Connor Cares Foundation.
James lives in Gambrills with his wife Katie and 5 year old son Cooper who attends the Severn School in Severna Park, MD.
James Walsh
Mr. Walsh is a founding partner of Liff, Walsh & Simmons and serves as the firm’s Managing Partner. He is the director of the firm’s Business and Finance practices and a member of the firm’s Real Estate, Land Use and Civil Litigation practice groups. He represents clients in all aspects of business, finance, real estate and land use projects, including contract negotiations, financing, construction, leasing, and entity structuring and organization. Mr. Walsh’s clients include businesses, investors, land owners, real estate developers, brokers, buyers, and sellers as well as community, regional and national banks. Mr. Walsh negotiates and drafts documents for real estate acquisition, construction, permanent, commercial and asset-based loans on behalf of both lenders and borrowers. He also counsels businesses on mergers and acquisitions, employment, contractual, business disputes, commercial litigation and general business matters. As a result of his extensive real estate practice, Mr. Walsh has formed the Land Use Group within Liff, Walsh & Simmons, which specializes in comprehensive zoning matters, uses requiring Special Exceptions, Zoning Variances, and Critical Area Variances. The Land Use Group focuses on complex applications and development issues, and advises corporate counsel seeking expertise in land use issues. Mr. Walsh has been recognized as a 2014-2019 Super Lawyers “Rising Start” in Real Estate. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Walsh is the President of Eagle Title, LLC, the firm’s affiliated title company, overseeing both the commercial and residential divisions.
Mr. Walsh graduated from the University of Maryland and subsequently obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Mr. Walsh started his legal career during law school as a law clerk to the Honorable Marvin Mandel.
Mr. Walsh currently lives in Anne Arundel County with his family and is an active supporter of many Annapolis based charities including the Building Traditions Society of the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation. He also serves as President of the Annapolis Touchdown Club.
Michael J. DeHaut Jr.
Michael J. DeHaut Jr. is a mortgage professional with Bay Capital Mortgage Corp in Annapolis, MD. Bay Capital Mortgage is a full-service mortgage banker that offers expertise in every area of mortgage lending.
In 2017 Michael co-founded Medalist Investments LLC, which is an entity that buys, repairs and sells homes in the Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas.
Michael is a venture capitalist who has invested in multiple successful start-up companies in Anne Arundel County and across the state. Michael enjoys finding young entrepreneurs with the desire and vision to develop and grow a business, create jobs, and contribute to the local economy.
Michael is also a long time contributor to local and national charities including Make A Wish Foundation and Cure Search.
Michael lives in Odenton, MD with his wife Tracey and their two dogs. An avid golfer, Michael enjoys traveling the East Coast playing as many different courses he can throughout the year.
